Our journey together
On May 11, 2009, Bella was foaled. And so starts our journey together. Of course, I did not know about her then, but in the winter of 2009, I had been looking for a warmblood to become my new dressage horse. I stumbled upon Windy Hill Sporthorses and found what I was looking for. Bella is an Arabian and Trakehner cross, specifically bred to be a sporthorse with great gaits, great attitude, and great looks also. I wasn't ready yet to buy a horse, as I was right in the middle of a house sale and interstate move. But, somehow, everything aligned and I was able to purchase Bella and within a couple of months, have her shipped to me in McMinnville, Tennessee where I presently live.
On February 28th, 2010, The Cowboy Express Horse Transportation showed up with my new filly! I was thrilled, she was even cuter than her pictures. After leading her around her new pasture a bit, I let her free to get out her travel kinks. Then, I was absolutely sure that I had made the right decision. Bella responded with an amazing, floating trot, and even a few steps of passage. She carries herself with her tail high and curled, thanks to her Arabian sire, and with the proud presence of her Trakehner dam. She is amazing!

March- Today, my sister and I were able to work with Bella and get her thoroughly groomed and started desensitizing her to all the dumb things humans do. Her new halter should be here any day, I bought her an adjustable one with buckles in 5 places. I also ordered Raising Foals by Clinton Anderson. Bella took all this in stride, she is such a great filly. Vet on Thursday!
March-Her yearling halter is too big, but the weanling one is too small. Time to get out the hole punch.
March-Bella's first vet visit, she is healthy and doing very well, but needs a tooth floated.
February 2010-Bella is shipped to me
December-Bella is mine!
